History of Columbus (Ohio) Metro Area Chapter of Alcorn State University National Alumni Association
The desire or dream to create a local chapter of the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association (ASUNAA) was conceived in the 1990’s after attending several Mid-Winter Conferences and Annual Alumni Weekends. It was observed that the best way to support Alcorn State University in its mission would be through an organized local alumni chapter. The Chapter founder was encouraged in 2010 by ASUNNA President Percy Norwood to complete an application package for a Charter. At that time, the founder only knew of six Alcornites in the Columbus, Ohio Metro-Area. The Chapter was issued Charter# 203 on May 6, 2011, after having satisfied all requirements for establishment.
The Chapter now has a full slate of talented, enthusiastic, and dedicated officers with approximately 30 members. The Chapter continues to grow steadily and is an answer to many prayers.
“Always Alcorn – Go Braves!”
